Time to offload because I'm down in the dumps! It has essentially been 6 months out of the studio. I managed to sneak a couple of weeks in in July but for the rest - It has been at home.
Navigating the online ballet world has been tough. Overwhelming. What channel/platform do I choose? What should I focus on? How do I know I'm improving? How do I know if I'm doing it right? Why am I so much worse at home than the studio?... it takes its toll.
For the last 2 months(ish), I had to switch off. So besides the occasional stretching session: Nada.
My body is getting weaker, softer, stiffer. All of that is accompanied with a feeling of defeat.
Those who know me know that I always pull up my socks and crack on. Because despite all of this, my love for ballet is still burning bright. So I have decided to reboot with @motionmedicine
. This is me this morning. Those who know me also know that I struggle with a dodgy hip. Ballet has helped this tremendously. But now (along with many things) I have to really focus on my stability and strength. Back to physio I go!
Uuuuuuuuugh I'm glad to have my ballet buddies to support and inspire me! I'm so thankful to be a part of a beautiful adult ballet community. And that is why I have chosen to share their stories each Monday. They keep my chin up and I know that they will motivate you too 🤙♥️
